Gravel Worlds’ Human Policy

Respect Everyone

Harassment of any participant, volunteer, spectator, or staff of Gravel Worlds of any kind will not be tolerated in any capacity.

Every human is welcome into the Gravel Family and should feel safe to exist at ours and every gravel event.

Rule #1: BE COOL!

Breaking Rule #1 could result in a permanent ban from all Gravel Worlds events.

Age Rules

  • Under 10 Years Old

    • We recommend attending the Kid’s Parade on Friday of race week. Parent/Guardian must be present and must sign a waiver to participate.

  • 10-15 Years Old

    • You are able to participate in the 10k run, 35mile bike, or 75mile bike. We request all minors ride with a parent/guardian. The parent/guardian must sign the waiver for the participant.

  • 16-19 Years Old

    • Able to participate in any distance. The parent/guardian must sign the waiver for the participant.

Our Age Groups are broken down based on number of participants in a given race/category. As we gain more participants, we will consider reducing podiums down to smaller age groups.

Para Category

We have worked with our 2x Para Champion, Meg Fisher, to help us with our Para Categories. Please see the link below for full details on our para categories.

Gender

We offer Men’s, Women’s, and Nonbinary/Gender Expansive (as well as Para Categories of all genders) for every race and distance. If you feel we are missing a category you fall within, please message us.

Transgender Athletes

Transgender athletes are welcome at all Gravel Worlds events. Any harassment of transgender athletes will not be tolerated. See top of page.

Female-to-Male Transition

Transgender Men can register for any Men’s category regardless of hormone treatments. If an athlete has already started hormone treatment, they may no longer sign up in any Women’s Categories.

Male-to-Female Transition

Transgender women must have completed two years of continuous, medically supervised hormone treatment before participating in any women’s categories. They may also register in any men’s category regardless of hormone treatment status.
